Espera


Esta canción fue escrita y compuesta por Adolfo a raíz de la Revolución de los claveles. Es un tema clásico de entonces: la solidaridad de la gente representada en el amor o en la amistad de dos personas. Esta espera de la que habla, hace referencia a la esperanza que el 25 de Abril portugués trajo a la oposición española anti-franquista.

Nuberu: Aída Lafuente

Nuberu is an asturian folk duo, formed by Chus Pedro and Manolo Penayos, of the single 70s that still have activity. The name of the group makes reference to a creature of the Asturian mythology: the nuberu is a genious that carries the rain and the storm. Their music is based on the traditional music of the region of Asturias (north of Spain), a music with Celtic reminiscence, and they, as other Asturians singers and groups contemporary, opted to sing in the dialect of Asturias: Bable or Asturianu.

The language of Asturias. Bable is a dialect of an antique language of Spain, Leonés, which was talked in the old Kingdom of León or Astur-Leonés Kingdom. Actually is talked in León and Asturias, taking respectively the names of Leonés and Asturianu (cast. Asturiano; Eng. Asturian). Though is talked only in the country field, Asturianu was adopted by people who felt the needed of having an own language for their identity as nationality. Actually there’s a polemic about if Asturianu is a language or only a dialect.

The story of Aida Lafuente. At 1934, during the right wing government of the Second Spanish Republic, the hunger, the bad situation of the workers and peasants, make that many people were angry. So, left and nationalists parties, with anarchists, socialists and communists syndicates, call for a strike in October. Although it wasn’t too supported, in Asturias was very strong: as strong as they call it the Revolution of Asturias. The government, in hands of CEDA (Spanish Autonomic Right Wing-Parties Confederation), asked help to General Franco (he still wasn’t the dictator), who said the best thing was to send the legionaries, the Spanish colonial forces, to help police and Civil guard. The result of that was a massacre. Aida Lafuente was a young girl of a communist family; at  October 13th, she was defending alone the entrance to Oviedo (Asturias’ capital). When the soldiers get her, they asked her her name; she answered: Libertarian Communist!… So she was dead by the soldiers and buried in a common grave with others companions. Her story became a legend for the left people of Asturias, but also from others sites of Spain. This Nuberu’s song is a version of the popular song that the Asturian people made in honor of the girl.

For foreigners: a new category


Being totally conscientious about the significant number of foreigners visitors that this blog has, I begin to translate to English the songs and poems that have been published here  until now. This means that no new song or poem will come to take part of this category since the beginning. We’ll start, or at less that’s what I’ll try, in chronological order. With this, I hope and trust to put in the knowledge of everybody who pass by here, our poetry and songwriters’ songs in every Spanish state language; but also poems and songs from Portugal (I have still not decide about french songs and poems). Obviously, I choose English for it’s a language in which all we understand ourself, ones to others, more or less.

Siendo totalmente consciente del número significativo de visitantes extranjeros que tiene este blog, voy a comenzar la traducción al inglés de las canciones y poemas que han salido aquí hasta ahora. Esto quiere decir que ninguna canción o poema nuevo vendrá a formar parte de esta categoría desde el principio. Comenzaremos, o eso intentaré, en orden cronológico. Con esto, confío y espero poner en conocimiento de todos los que pasen por aquí nuestra poesía y nuestras canciones de autor en todas las lenguas del estado; pero también los poemas y canciones de Portugal (las francesas no lo he decidido todavía). Obviamente elijo el inglés ya que es el lenguaje en el que todos nos entendemos más o menos.

Cese de los índices mensuales


Como ya anuncié, la categoría "Índice mensual de poesías y canciones" ha sido eliminada: resulta superflua existiendo ya un índice general, tres índices temáticos (autores, musicadores, intérpretes) y uno de primeros versos (que será por índices). No obstante los índices publicados bajo esta categoría desde octubre del año pasado no serán borrados: para encontrarlos, simplemente buscar por meses: suelen estar al final de su mes o al principio del mes siguiente.
En su lugar voy a comenzar un experimento interesante. Para saberlo, os remito a la siguiente entrada…
